Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations, vital signs assessment, and comprehensive patient evaluations for diverse age groups, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and adults.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication administration, injections, suturing, and wound care.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, and emergency medicine.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems to document patient encounters accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate care through case management, discharge planning, utilization review, and working with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient, outpatient, hospice & palliative medicine settings.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
Skills
- Proven experience with Epic EMR systems or similar EHR platforms such as Cerner or Athenahealth.
- Knowledge of CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for accurate medical documentation and billing.
- Experience working with diverse populations or underserved patient populations
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing or medical imaging; experience with sonography preferred.
