Position Summary
Protegra Healthcare Staffing is recruiting a compassionate and patient-focused General Dentist for a full-time opportunity with one of our community-health clients in Memphis, Tennessee.
The dentist will provide comprehensive preventive, diagnostic and restorative dental services to patients of all ages, including medically underserved and culturally diverse populations. The ideal candidate will combine strong clinical skills with a genuine commitment to improving access to high-quality oral healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental examinations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Diagnose and treat dental conditions affecting the teeth, gums and oral cavity.
- Provide preventive, restorative and routine surgical dental services.
- Perform procedures such as fillings, crowns, extractions and other treatments within the dentist’s scope of practice.
- Educate patients and families about oral hygiene, preventive care and treatment options.
- Review and interpret dental X-rays and other diagnostic information.
- Prescribe medications when clinically appropriate.
- Respond to urgent dental needs and provide appropriate follow-up care.
- Collaborate with dental hygienists, dental assistants, physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
- Refer patients to dental specialists when necessary.
- Maintain complete, accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
- Follow infection-control, quality-assurance and patient-safety standards.
- Participate in clinical meetings, community-health initiatives and quality-improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
- Active and unrestricted Tennessee dental license, or eligibility to obtain licensure before employment.
- Current DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain one, when required.
- Current CPR or Basic Life Support certification.
- Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based dental care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient-education skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an FQHC, community health center, public-health clinic or similar setting.
- Experience serving medically underserved and culturally diverse populations.
- Proficiency with electronic dental or health-record systems.
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
- New graduates and experienced dentists are encouraged to apply.
