Position Overview
Protegra Healthcare Staffing is recruiting an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner Supervisor for one of our healthcare clients in the Clarksville, Tennessee area.
This position combines direct patient care with clinical leadership and supervision of advanced practice providers. The Nurse Practitioner Supervisor will help ensure consistent, high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting provider development, clinical performance, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Nurse Practitioner with a strong background in primary or community-based care and a demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Provide comprehensive primary and preventive care to patients across the lifespan, consistent with education, certification, and scope of practice.
- Conduct physical examinations, obtain medical histories, and assess acute and chronic health conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory studies.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions in accordance with applicable laws and clinical guidelines.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, preventive care, and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Coordinate referrals and collaborate with physicians, specialists, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the care team.
Leadership and Supervision
- Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and mentorship to Nurse Practitioners and other assigned clinical professionals.
- Support the onboarding, orientation, and ongoing development of advanced practice providers.
- Monitor provider performance, documentation quality, productivity, and adherence to established clinical standards.
- Conduct regular meetings, coaching sessions, and performance evaluations.
- Assist with provider scheduling, coverage, workflow, and resource allocation.
- Promote consistent clinical practices and evidence-based care across the team.
- Help resolve clinical concerns, workflow barriers, and patient-care escalations.
- Partner with medical and operational leadership to improve access, quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in quality-improvement, risk-management, and compliance initiatives.
- Promote a professional culture built on collaboration, accountability, respect, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Current and unrestricted Tennessee Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licenses, or eligibility to obtain them.
- Current prescriptive authority and DEA registration, as required for the position.
- Current BLS certification.
- Several years of direct Nurse Practitioner experience, preferably in primary care, family medicine, or community health.
- Previous supervisory, clinical leadership, mentoring, or provider-development experience strongly preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based clinical practice.
- Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with an active patient-care workload.
- Experience working with underserved or medically diverse populations is preferred.
- Experience with electronic health record systems is required.
